The Boys & Girls Club Technology Program is dedicated to integrate technology skills into our after school programs.  Our extensive technology program consists of three computer labs, which are all staffed by personnel trained in Internet safety.  We offer several educational and fun activities with digital technologies and imagery.
  • MIRACLES Technology Center
    Beginning in September of 2007, the Boys & Girls Club of Albany will be facilitating a break-through technology program call the MIRACLES Academy.  The MIRACLES Technology Center was graciously donated by the Boys & Girls Club of America and consists 20 IBM Lenovo computers, all of which are updated with the some of the latest Microsoft and Adobe software applications.  Members will also have the opportunity to use several digital imaging technology in effort to develop technological skills for future career opportunities.
     
  • CTC Computer Lab
    The CTC (Community Technology Center) Computer Lab is also a great asset to our technology program, which consists of 18 HP Pavilion computers, each equipped with up-to-date Microsoft software and educational programs.  This lab offers K - 5th grade members a variety of educational and fun programs as listed below.
     
  • High School Computer Lab
    Middle School and High School members alike, each have the opportunity to join our educational programs offered in the High School Computer Lab.  The programs are separated into age groups and offered to give our pre-teen and teens the opportunity to do research and explore career possibilities.  The High School Computer Lab offers 10 Dell Dimension computers, all of which are available with Microsoft Office 2003 and the latest Digital Image Suite for those future Graphic Designers.

MIRACLES® Academy goes beyond simply providing kids with access to the Internet, hardware and software. The Academy is uniquely designed to enhance members existing technology skills, encourage career exploration in the area of technology and related fields while sup-porting the academic, social and emotional development of the youth.

Club Tech has developed technology programs that will give members basic computer skills; introduce them to digital movie making, music making, photography, graphic design and web development; and guide staff in using technology to enhance all program offerings.

   
StudyDog Adventures in Reading is a validated phonics-based reading program specifically designed to help your Pre-K to 2nd Grade child improve or accelerate their reading skills.

   
NetSmartz is a comprehensive program from BGCA and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. It teaches members Internet safety skills through engaging multimedia activities and offline interaction with Club professionals, in three age-appropriate modules.

   
YNet Kids Town was designed with a younger group in mind.  This website is a fun, educational and interactive world, where the members of the club can explore and learn.

   
YNet is a Web site designed for Club teenagers, dedicated to promoting youth development outcomes; fostering inter-Club collaboration; expanding Club resources; and empowering youth as content developers and monitors of their online community.

   
Animate Your World is a fun, innovative program designed by Cartoon Network provides members with tools to create custom animation using positive character traits and behaviors learned through activities and resources.

   
Club Planet (Partnership for Learning and Achievement .net) is a brand new program with an emphasis on using technology to expand our knowledge of the communities and cultures of the world. We hope to make contact with youth in other cities, states, and even countries!

   
Kiran's Typing Tutor
Kiran's Typing Tutor is packaged and written for Microsoft Windows operating system, which lets you to learn Touch Typing and improve typing skills and speed in a very easy way with in the shortest possible time.

   
Genetic Engineering
Using the latest technology in medical tools (Microsoft Digital Image Suite 9, Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0), children at the club create brand new creatures by blending genetic properties of two or more animals.

   
Lego Robotics
With LEGO® MINDSTORMS® members get to grips with techniques that are used in the real world of science, engineering and design. They design, build and program fully functional models. And they learn to behave as young scientists, carrying out simple investigations, calculating and measuring behaviors, and recording and presenting their results.
   
Game Maker Yo Yo!
Game Maker allows you to make exciting computer games, without the need to write a single line of code. Using easy to learn drag-and-drop actions, you can create professional looking games within very little time. You can make games with:
