A member of the Boys & Girls Club of Albany received top
honors in the Pacific region for her age division in an
online design contest sponsored by the national club’s “Club
Tech” program.
The contest was part of the eighth annual Club Tech
Digital Arts Festival. This year’s theme was, “Be Creative.”
Artwork was judged based on age, artistic merit and
demonstrated technological skills.
Shenade Migliorini’s entry, “Be Great in Technology,” was
first in the 13-15 age group for Design Tech. The entry can
be seen at

The 13-year-old from Calapooia Middle School created a
page with a picture of several members of the Boys & Girls
Club of Albany, surrounded by digital stars. Next to the
photo is the club’s clasped-hands logo over the image of an
exploding firework, and the words “BE GREAT!!!”
The entry now moves on to compete at the national level.
If chosen, Migliorini will receive either $500 for her club
or a trip to Atlanta, Ga., to learn about real world
applications for the skills she developed using the program.
“Shenade has been an asset to our MIRACLES Technology
Academy here at the Boys & Girls Club of Albany,” Technology
Director Jacob Johnson said in a statement. “Over the past
three years, she has shown great progress as her digital
arts and artistic skills have developed.”
The Club Tech digital arts program is meant to help young
people gain technological skills needed for college and
jobs.
