THE
GREAT CHRISTMAS BLACKOUT One stormy night, a thunderbolt hit
the Boys and Girls Club and caused a blackout. I wasn't there, but I
wish I was. So, Sean B. said and I quote: "Everyone was screaming,
hiding under stuff, it was funny." Another witness, Austin C. said:
"Dark and weird to walk around and go to the bathroom." Ha. So
mainly, it was scary.

MARCH OF
THE VETERANS No school!! It's Veterans Day!! Oh
joy!! So, any way, the Boys and Girls Club has a float for Veterans
Day. It's pretty cool. But Alicia S. said: "I carried the
banner for Citizens Bank, and it was very cold and windy, and I also
some friends." A great story. So any way, Jimmy S. said: "I was
holding the banner on the semi-trailer, but I fell off a couple
times but not off the float, I also saw some friends, and jets." So
much emotion in that last quote.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS AT THE CLUB
Joy to the world, Christmas carols.
Anyway Grandpa Larry of the Albany, Oregon Boys and Girls Club
organized an event in which kids, of course, sing Christmas Carols.
It's a fun little event in which kids get together to sing favorite
Christmas songs packed into one CD. Not really. But they do sing
songs like jingle bells, Rudolph the red nose reindeer, and joy to
the world. I love Christmas music. |

CELEBRATION OF TREES AUCTION
The Celebration of Trees, a magical
event. Many people like to see the beautiful event. I like # 14,
Gifts of Christmas, sponsored by Town & Country Realty, #15,
Kaleidoscope of Wonder, sponsored by Sid-Stevens Jewelers, and #
18, Carousels of Christmas, sponsored by Hayden Home. I think these
ones are the best of the bunch.

THE CHRISTMAS TOY GIVEAWAY Another good deed of
Grandpa Larry is the toy giveaway. When people of unwanted toys
heard about the event they donated them to the Boys and Girls Club
of Albany who then gave them away to children in need. Many toys
were donated to children in need. They were mostly stuffed animals
and toy cars and motorcycles. Thanks to all the people who made many
children happy. |
