Most people view the homeless population as just consisting of drug addicted adults where actually the majority is younger then 16. 97 children in the Greater Albany Public School 8J District are identified as homeless and of those 97, 39 are not accompanied by an adult. 90% percent of homeless people in Oregon (about 18% of the population) die each year. Did you know there are over 400 verses in the Bible that tell us to help the poor such as: Proverbs 21:13 - "If a man shuts his ear to the cry of the poor, he to will cry out and not be heard." and Isaiah 58:6-7 - "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter- when the see the naked to clothe him, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
